Unite your body, mind, and spirit this International Day of Yoga!

Celebrated annually on June 21st, this day serves as a global reminder of the profound impact yoga can have on our well-being.

This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," beautifully encapsulates the practice's ability to cultivate inner peace while fostering a sense of connection with the world around us.

A Legacy of Wellness

The inaugural International Day of Yoga celebrations in 2015 were nothing short of historic. Held at Rajpath in New Delhi, the event led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi set a remarkable standard. It even secured two Guinness World Records: one for the largest yoga session at a single venue and another for the most nationalities participating!

Yoga: A Journey Beyond the Physical

Yoga's roots trace back to ancient India, encompassing far more than just physical postures. The word itself originates from Sanskrit, meaning "to join or to unite," symbolising the harmonious connection between body and consciousness.

While the image of downward-facing dog (adho mukha svanasana) might come to mind first, yoga's true essence lies in its ability to cultivate mindfulness, empower us with powerful breathing techniques, and ultimately guide us towards inner peace.
